My web site is called Christian Martial Artist to distinguish it from other martial arts sites that are not of the Christian faith, and to declare that I am biblically based in my approach to life.

I use this terminology as such because it is easier and flows better than saying I am a Christian first, and a martial artist.

Being a Christian martial artist is problematic in and of it's self due to this possible misconstrued point of view, i.e.: saying I am a martial artist, who is a Christian. If I am a martial artist first, then I would be dishonoring my Lord Jesus by placing Him in a secondary position in my life. This is a completely unacceptable position, and violates the scriptures for Jesus is always to be our first love.

Jesus has made me into the man I am today, not martial arts. It is Jesus who has made me confident and secure as a person. Jesus has made my life a successful one, martial arts are just a bonus.

This is why I want to declare that I am a Christian first, above all things, in all ways. Martial arts are secondary.

Colossians 1:18
